Suggest Treatment For Itchy Anus
Most common causes are infections, personal habits, and skin conditions!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The most common cause of anal itching is an infection caused by pinworm. The parasite sites just around the anus and sheds its eggs causing irritation and itching. other possible infections are sexually transmitted infections and yeast infections.
Another well known cause is related to personal habits such as wiping too much or too little, using certain perfumes and soaps, etc. which cause irritation and itches.
Other causes like hemorrhoids and diarrhea are more common. Cancers rarely cause itches at the anal area.
With you, I will start by recommending you review your personal care habits and make necessary adjustments. I will suggest you clean gently, dry thoroughly, avoid scratching and wear cotton underwear and loose dressing. If these fail, I will suggest that you ask for examination by your doctor. This might involve looking for hemorrhoids as well as getting stool exam to look for parasites. Am pretty confident that we would be able to arrive at addressing this by the time we get here.
I must precise that this is highly unlikely to be related to cancer at this time.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
I appreciate your prompt and courteous answer. I have heard about the pinworms and I truly hope that my anus isn't itching because of that reason. It wouldn't be from a sexually transmitted disease since I have not had intercourse since 2011. Unless, it is from that time period and I do not believe that could be possible because I should of noticed signs and symptoms by now.
Sincerely,
