Suggest Treatment For Itchy Black Rashes On The Palms Of The Hands

Question: 65 year old mother in law has to use a wheel chair daily...the palms of her hands around the thumb area has turned black itchy and it looks to be spreading. This has been going on for a few weeks.Could it be because of her rolling herself in the wheel chair ?? Thanks in advance
Brief Answer:
Seems to be related to friction associated with rolling of wheelchair
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and this seems to be related to prolonged friction associated with rolling of the wheelchair with her palms.
If I was her treating doctor I would recommend her to apply cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturising cream containing white soft paraffin on the entire hands 3-4 times in a day.
For she can take tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
