Suggest Treatment For Itchy Bump In The Buttocks

Posted on Mon, 13 Feb 2017
Question: my spouse has had some type of warty looking bump on the inner side of her butt cheek. it doesn't itch or hurt. It first appeared there 3 years ago when she was 6 months pregnant and its been there ever since, but it has shrunk somewhat overtime. When she was pregnant, her GYN at the time said its just a pregnancy wart from hormones. Her pap is normal by the way. I showed a pic of it to my dermatologist and she said it's something that starts with an F I can't remember. But i would like another opinion

Brief Answer:
Can be skin cyst or folliculitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I have seen the attached images. The small bump that you have noticed can be a skin papilloma ( A harmless painless swelling like a skin tag) or a skin cyst or folliculitis ( an inflamed hair follicle). Since it is a painless swelling and is not increasing in size there is no need to worry. You can get it removed by your dermatologist in case it increases or becomes painful.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Less likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Less likely to be HPV. Its appearance is not like a wart. A skin tag is more likely. However a blood test will help in ruling it out.
Hope my answer is helpful.
Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.
