Suggest Treatment For Itchy Hives On Back, Legs And Arms

I suggest a possibility of allergic urticaria
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have taken note of your query and I have understood it.
You have a condition known as Urticaria/ Hives.
It presents as skin welts and itching that can be distributed over wide areas of the body.
Urticaria can be classified as either Acute (if the duration is less than 6 weeks) Or Chronic (if it has been present for more than 6 weeks).
If your urticaria has been persisting for more than 6 months I would classify your urticaria as Chronic Urticaria.
Overall, approximately half of the patients of chronic urticaria have no underlying cause and are known as "idiopathic urticaria" i.e all testing is normal.
Raised immunoglobulin levels just indicates that you have an allergic cause behind your urticaria but raised immunoglobulin levels itself is not the real cause/ reason behind urticaria.... it is just an indicator that probably there is an allergen.
The allergen responsible may be present in your diet, Or in your atmosphere..
You may take up a blood test to identify antibodies (IgE) to specific allergen that may be responsible for causing this type of reaction.
This blood test would test for all major allergens that are commonly present in the environment of individual, including food & therefore might help in identifying the particular cause/ allergen that may be causing urticaria...
Once a specific allergen is identified by this test it may be possible to eliminate it from your environment or diet and then automatically the raised immunoglobulin levels would come down.
Treatment of urticaria is symptomatic till the specific cause is identified and eliminated e.g an oral antihistamine like cetrizine 10 mg once daily or twice daily.

Can attend gym; continue with Oral antihistamine
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I don't think there is any problem going to a gym.
Continue with the Oral antihistamine i.e cetrizine 10 mg, once daily is usually enough but it can be increased to even twice daily, if required.
I would suggest you take up a blood test for possible allergens present in your environment or diet that may be causing urticaria.
Regards

I suggest a blood test to identify responsible allergen
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
As I have already mentioned in one of my previous reply that raised serum IgE levels is just an indicator that you have an allergic cause for your urticaria. It does'nt help anything more than that.
Exactly what is that allergen(s)?? we do not know as yet....
The responsible allergen (s) could be either present in your environment Or it could be something in your diet.
I asked you to go for a specific test to try identify the responsible allergen(s) so that we can possibly eliminate it from your surroundings Or diet..
Unless the responsible allergen is identified treatment of urticaria would be symptomatic with daily oral antihistamines i.e cetrizine or other similar antihistamines.
Regards

Allergen specific IgE test
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
You may go for an "Allergen specific IgE test". This test will check whether you have allergy against one or more of the 100's of allergens, that are part of the test kit.
This will determine whether you have an allergy to one or more of the commonly present allergens in your environment, diet etc.
It is available in all major labs like SRL Ranbaxy lab, Dr. Lal Path lab.
