Suggest Treatment For Itchy Left-sided Labia Causing A Sore After Scratching

labial abrasion
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM ,
The fact that you have scratched hard at the site and caused a sore abrasive lesion at the left labia, this is likely to be slightly painful as the local skin area is anyways sensitive and there is a breach in skin continuity. The formation of a bump post itching was due to inflammation and normal skin reaction but as of now this sore would any ways take 4-5 days to heal naturally provided the area is kept dry and friction free during the healing time.
You may continue applying polysporen thrice a day and even dry hot fomentation thrice a day day atleast. You may take a stat dose of CAP AZITHROMYCIN 1000mg to cover for any infection associated( considering the fact that you felt your lymph nodes swell up).Wear loose cotton under garments to prevent any further friction injury and keep the local area dry.
This should help you.
Regards,

I sat in a heavy hot Epson salt bath for 1/2 an hour this morning. some of the swelling went down. Still a little tender in the groin above the sore. The swelling is mostly gone in the sore and surrounding labia. do I still need the azithromycin, I am sensitive to drugs especially antibiotics. I am assuming I will need to go to the doctor for that prescription?
Still feel a bit yuky, slightly headachy, like mild flu. We are leaving in the morning to travel by car, about 3000 miles in 13 days. I always seem to have some challenge come up when it is time to travel. Could be related to the stress of preparation.
Thank you for your time and expertise. Let me know what you think about my above discussion.
respectfully submitted,
Zita

Hello,
Well if the swelling has reduced and the inflammation has gone down and if you feel that you are allergic to antibiotics then you may omit azithromycin option as yes, it would need a prescription.
You can continue hot epson salt bath twice a day if need be. Apply ointment soframycin locally in that case as that would prevent any local secondary infection and would create a layer interface over the lesion allowing it to heal early.
Wish you a satisfying tour,
Regards
