Question: I had unprotected sex with a female July 21. On July 27th I took flagyl for a yeast infection. 3 days later I woke up with an itchy rash that I went to the er room for, they deemed at as an allergic reaction, I never had a reaction to an antibiotic before , but was the first time I took flagyl. I got tested for hiv on Aug 1 1st and Aug 10th. 4th gen was used at the hospital and came out negative. Dr told me that this test would detect if I had the hiv virus and I can test assure. But I still have the itch no rash, and I have muscle aches that travel from my leg to back , knee and arms. My anxiety is throuh the roof and had a panic attack for the first time in my life yesterday. My body sometimes feel it has Bengal on it and my muscles have been tended. I have hsv2 and I had a store appear inside my mouth and went away in 2 days and yesterday I noticed a site in my shaft. I am terrified even after 2 negative results. The girl I had unprotected sex with took 2 oraquick years in front of me and came out negative. But the box says it takes 3 months of exposure to test accurately.

Brief Answer:
The risk of HIV is very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Valero,

Welcome to HCM.

The risk of contracting HIV from single unprotected exposure is very less and 4th generation HIV test after two weeks is negative which is highly reliable and accurate as said correctly by your doctor so no need to worry too much. Itching can be due to some allergy for which take anti-histaminics like avil or cetrizine.

Body-ache and mouth sore are not specific to HIV. You are right that ora-quick test takes 3 months to give conclusive result but negative result at any point of time is also considered reliable and reduces the possibility of positive result so just relax and move on in life. Brief Answer:
It may be due to muscle spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Dear valero,

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

Body-ache and arm pain may be due to muscle spasm. Take some pain killer with muscle relaxants and you will be fine. Allay the fear or anxiety of HIV because the risk is very unlikely. If still not feeling relaxed then consider counselling services.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Valero,

Welcome back once again.

Little swollen lymphnode is not a concern to worry, it might be due to many reasons, still I advice you to consult your physician to isolate the cause and follow the treatment regime as per the advice. The risk of HIV is very remote so just relax your self.
