Question: Hello I presented with the case of a rash. it started about two and a half months ago on my neck and has spread all over my body. it is a mild itching rash, red to brownish in color. I have taken prednisone and triamcinolone. the swelling has seemed to go down a little bit but the rash seems to be persistently spreading . it's now on my forearms my back my chest my buttocks and my legs I don't have any allergies that I'm aware of. i have seen a doctor who thought it might be a latex allergy but it doesn't seem to be that also when I scratch myself it doesn't seem as though I heal as fast as I used to my age is 25 years old and good health non smoker non drinker I don't do drugs and I'm not on any medications. I have enclosed some close up pictures of the rash in various areas of my body please if you can help me I would appreciate it

Brief Answer:
could be scabies

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir!

Thank you so much for writing in healthcare magic.

I understand your concern and feel sorry for the pain you are going through. By the pictures and your symptom, I could think of it as Scabies.

Take bath in Epsom salt, use sulfa soaps and apply ointments like lindane, permethrin etc. Please see a doctor and go for a skin scrap test.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more.

Brief Answer:
Another possibility could be Allergic eczema

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir!

Thank you for writing back!

The second cause which I could think of after having a look again at your pictures is Allergic eczema. Might be these months your body is continuously exposed to something which your body is allergic to like;
Nickel
Animal dander
Certain clothing dyes
Perfumes
Wool
Soap or detergents

Try taking antihistamine tablets for a week to see if you get relief. Meanwhile go for an allergy profile test to know the exact stuff you are allergic to.
Avoid physical and mental stress. Eating right, light activity, and adequate sleep will help you stay healthy, which can help prevent flares. Continue applying steroid creams, if this does not help please consult a dermatologist.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask more.
