Suggest Treatment For Itchy Scalp
Question: I had a very itchy scalp concentrated on the left side only. I went to my doctor who perscribed triamcinolone acetonide cream, usp. There also is an indentation in the skull. A very narrow line from front to back The cream gives some relief.

Dents in the scalp that have appeared recently could be due to osteoporotic changes in your body. It is best to get your serum calcium and vitamin D 3 levels evaluated.
You need to be examined in detail to see if you have any focal neurological deficit.
If the dent on the scalp is deep, then, a CT scan of brain may be done to see if there is any compression on the underlying brain.

Seborrhea of scalp.
presents with itching, greasy scale and also there is bit itching on face
Eczema of scalp.
presents with oozing from scalp and the hair become sticky.
I would recommend you a short course of antifungal drug like ketocinazole or itraconazole and antihistaminics.
Apply a lotion containing betamethasone and sertaconazole/clotrimazole twice a day over scalp. Use medicated shampoo conatining ketoconazole, ZPTO and salicyclic acid twice a day for hairwash followed by a gentle conditioner.
Avoid excessive oiling of scalp.
