Question: Am having welts on arms and legs that itch. They come and go. Took a benydril - not better. Also voice not normal - huskier. no pain - otherwise feel good.

Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are concerned about welts on your arms that itch and a change in voice. You are having hives or a significant allergic reaction to something. Benadryl usually helps but you may need a more potent antihistamine like allegra, zyrtec or claritin. These antihistamines are more potent. If these antihistamine don't work you may need to see your medical provider for a dose of steroids. Now if you develop any shortness of breath or wheezing you need to see your medical provider right away as you may asthma complicating your hives. If the asthma gets too bad it can cause you severe respirator distress.
