Treatment depends on size of stone
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
The treatment depends on the size of the stone. So please let me know the ultrasound report.
Mostly if she is having pain, then some surgical treatment like EWSL would be preferred. Stone dissolving medicines are also available but take some time to dissolve it and are preferred for smaller stones.
For pain relief mediicne like hyospan 10 mg can be taken.
To reduce acidity of urine syrup ALKASOL can be taken 15 ml in a glass of water three times a day for 5 days.
1. Please take fruits like apple, papaya, watermelon, pineapple, sweetlime, bananas and orange, vegetables like, white gourd, ladyfinger, pumpkin, pulses and legumes.
2. Avoid foods containing oxalates like non veg, vegetables like spinach, tomato, cauliflower, brinjals, nuts like cashew, pista and almonds.
3. Decrease extra salt in foods.
4. Avoid spicy pickles.
5. Please eat meat products in normal amounts, avoid eating too much.
6. Cranberry juice is acidic and is to be avoided.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply.
stone size is 6mm. We want it to be dissolved on its own. I read on internet to give lemon juice which provide Vitamin C and help to dissolve stone. Am I right. Can she take lemon juice daily.

Ascorbic acid may increase stone formation
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Actually there are mixed suggestions on intake of vitamin C depending on type of stone.
Since oxalate stone is more common (60%), I will describe about it. Theoretically it has been said that vitamin C increases oxalate excretion in urine. Thus it may increase stone formation. Some research studies support this and some say that it is not that significant. But I have not seen any study saying that it decreases the stone formation.
The upper limit of vitamin C intake is 2000 mg/day. A glass of lime juice contains less than 100 mg of vitamin C. So taking a glass of lime juice should not harm. But I doubt if it will dissolve stones.
A calcium oxalate stone is really hard, just like stones in the sand. No matter what you put on it, it is hard to dissolve. It is better that the stone passes out by drinking lots of water. Less than 5 mm stones are easier to pass. The stone in your sister's case seems to be causing obstruction in ureter.
