Suggest Treatment For Kidney Stones
ESWL, PCNL or ureterscopy can be done
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for contacting healthcaremagic.
I understand your concerns.
Large stone in the kidneys can be treated in three main ways. The decision will depend on position of the stone., size and other problems with kidney and patient factors
One is ESWL whereby shock wave are focused on stone from outside and this does not require anaesthesia and is an outpatient procedure. More than one treatment may be required and hard stones may not break or if patient is obese..
Second and third method is surgery. One is by passing a camera by the natural urine passage and breaking stone by laser. It is suitable for stones less than 2- 3 cms. If larger then PCNL is an option whereby a puncture is done in loin directly to kidneys and stone broken down.
You have the option to upload images of reports in order to get a more focused answer.
