
Suggest Treatment For Knot At The Injection Site After Pentavac Vaccine

My son is 2 1/2 month old,he got vaccinated 1month back for pentavac Vaccine(Nov 7th) he got localized llump with warmth and tenderness, 2 #1.5 cm size present in left present still now .no h/o fever now..what to do ?

Hi....it is a common phenomenon. No need to do anything. Based on individual child's body response, it will take 6 weeks to 6 months to gradually get absorbed and subside completely.

The swelling seems to be quite big.
You can apply thrombophobe ointment. But no need for antibiotic like Phexin as this is not a bacterial infection.
But as the swelling is quite big, we need to rule bleeding disorder.
I suggest you do the following tests at the behest of your pediatrician -
CBC/ PT and aPTT.
