Suggest Treatment For Large Lump In Right Armpit, Fatigue And Cold

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Dec 2015
Question: I have a large (approximately 2.5 inch) lump In my right armpit. I was thinking that it was either a boil or something to do with that lymph node, but I am in extreme pain from this! I can barely lift my arm, the pain good to the muscle in front of my shoulder and into my back now. I don't have a fever, but I'm starting to experience fatigue and the feeling that I'm about to have a cold. Please help!
I'm 28, female, generally healthy. I have alopecia, but that's it as far as medical history.

It is very hard. It feels like there is a rock under the bump you see in the picture. It started as a small pea size lump 5 days ago, and just seems to be getting bigger and more painful everyday. No diabetes or any major medical conditions. Just alopecia. I'm not on any medication, and i have no trauma to my armpit.

Brief Answer:
Most probably local abscess formation

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. Actually i was waiting for the image that's why did not reply earlier. So far i did not get any image. The symptoms you mentioned are suggestive of abscess formation. However it needs workup to confirm the status and management. I would suggest you to once visit hospital and get examined by a general surgeon. Meanwhile get ultrasound of that swelling done along with CBC. Results of these will help to proceed further with management which will include incision & drainage followed by antibiotic cover. Meanwhile take acetaminophen thrice a day for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
