Suggest Treatment For Laryngeal Thrush And White Spots On Tonsils

My son is 3 years old and has laryngial thrush. He has a hoarse voice, some small white spots on his tonsils and his tounge is a bit whiter than normal. He had been diagnosed with thrush just like this over the summer. Over the summer, he wasn't on antibiotics and we don't know what caused it exactly..... He had been on antibiotics this fall and ended them a few weeks ago. Augmentin and Flonase, the nose spray steroid. Are there any other tests I need to do with him to rule out underlying diseases? I am wondering if thrush at his age could be a sign of cancer or an autoimmune disease. He is eating and acting normally other than the hoarse voice. He does have a harder time than his little sister getting over illnesses. He doesn't have more fevers than normal, only for a day or two when he gets really sick. He doesn't get sick more often than other kids, it just tends to hang around longer.
I want to make sure his immune system is functioning properly. Over the summer when he had thrush the first time, I was worried about cancer and the hospital did a Complete Blood count with differentials. They came back normal.
Should I be concerned this is the second time my 3 year old has had thrush?? Thank you!
Its unlikely to be Laryngeal Thrush

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear MS XXXXXXX
Diagnosis of Laryngeal thrush can only be made by either Laryngoscopy or Endoscopy, hence the cause of hoarseness of voice can't be labelled due to laryngeal thrush. I assume the child would not have undergone such investigation and there is definitely no need for doing it.
Persistent hoarseness of voice could be due to persistent inflammation of respiratory tract or residual infection. No further investigations are required as his complete blood count and differential count are normal.
I would suggest you the following
1. Warm Saline gargling: To a glass of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of common table salt. Make child gargle with it hrice a day.
2. Oral Mutivitamin And Vitamin C supplement: Vitamin C helps boost immunity and also prevents respiratory tract infection to large extent.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
Take Care
Best Regards
