Suggest Treatment For Laryngopharyngeal Reflux

A question regarding my throat. I have a feeling that Im beeing strangeled (in lack of better word), it gets tight especially around the area just above the XXXXXXX apple, and to just below the XXXXXXX apple. Like something is really tight there. I can also, if physically active, get a bit trouble breathing, and it makes a "hissing" sound when I breath. Not really coughing. Like the throat is getting smaller in like a crampy way. Have this in periods, often long periods.
Also. Firgot to mention, when turning my head, I can feel it in my throat, as if something is really tight in there. When drinking watrer etc, or swallowing spit, it feels like some of it is squeezed back up.
Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
After going through the history, I am of the opinion that you could be suffering from Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux (LPR) secondary to acid reflux disease. Seldom, thyroid related issues and low haemoglobin counts can give rise to similar set of symptoms.
Most of the times, people suffering from LPR may not actually perceive the symptoms of heart burn or regurgitation, hence, it is termed as silent reflux.
I would suggest you to consult your doctor for a complete evaluation of the throat and the larynx. Battery of blood investigations and ultrasound scanning of the neck need to be done to rule out thyroid related issues and low haemoglobin levels.
Also, you can try the following:
1. Drink frequent sips of warm water
2. Avoid oily & spicy food, fizzy drinks, excess coffee/tea, alcohol and smoking, if any
Hope this answers your query; I will be available for the follow up queries.
