Suggest Treatment For Left Arm Pain
I am just typing an update I have fybro and I have been having left arm pain I went today to get xray and they did full cardiac work up with blood ECG so my blood work came back normal blood pressure good ECG said tacardia that is be I have white coat syndrome mine usually say no spacific st abnormality but this time it said possible lft atrial enlargement vent rate 113bpm pm interval 152ms qrs duration 64ms qt/qtc 336/460 ms prt axes 72 57 59 now when she was doing it the nurse was complaining about the leads not sticking properly she had to tape them
So the dr said not to worry about tat because an ECG cannot tell u about the enlargement but for peace of mind my dr is doing a heart ultrasound on sat
No one seems worried but me ?
Nothing to worry too much about!
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome back on HCM!
I understand your concern and would like to explain that your ECG data are not indicative of any specific disorders (all interval lengths and axes are withing normal ranges).
So, relax my dear! Don't worry about!
Slightly increased ventricular rate is due to anxiety (white coat syndrome).
Regarding left atrial enlargement, ECG is not the appropriate test for precisely addressing it.
Instead, cardiac ultrasound is the right medical exam for properly answering all the questions about cardiac structure and function.
As long as your ECG, overall blood work are OK, you don't have to worry too much.
No any dangerous complications seem to be on the horizon.
If you could upload your ECG records here, it could be possible for me to directly review it.
Meanwhile try to relax!
In case of further uncertainties do not hesitate to ask me!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
Thank you I have uploaded my ECG and u have given me a small amount of relief thinking the worse and afraid to do the things I normally do lol
Nothing dangerous on your ECG.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
I reviewed your ECG, and would say they no specific repolarization changes, no arrhythmia or conductance abnormalities are found.
So just relax!
Regards,
Dr. Iliri
I will upload my ultrasound results when I receive. Them I am doing it on Saturday
I am at your disposal anytime.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

You are welcome!
I am glad to have been helpful to you!
I will be always here, whenever you need.
Greetings!
Dr. Iliri
I will be glad to discuss your medical tests when available.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can upload your blood tests for a direct review. If evidence of inflammation coupled with a distinct symptomatology of well localized pain over temporomandibular area (exacerbated by articular activity, such as eating, speaking, etc) then a TMJ disorder is the most likely explanation.
In such case anti-inflammatory drugs could relieve the underlying complaints.
Fibromyalgia, from the other part exerts a more extensive symptomatology, including pain in several parts of the body and other associated complaints.
They could be better addressed by antidepressants use (duloxetine, etc).
Feel free to discuss your tests with me when available.
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
I just wanted to touch base as I have some questions about the ECG I uploaded . I have always had a ECG say nonspecific. St abnormality and they say it was nothing could this be the cause of my new ECG saying possible left aerial enlargement
Also everyone keeps saying it isn't dangerous but from the information I have gathered u can have a stroke that is serious
Also I k ow that the ultrasound will only show a slice of the heart how accurate is an ultrasound for this ?
Lastly it says the causes are high blood pressure over weight drugs and alcohol I don't have nor do any of the above I work out low impact 30 min 3 or 4 times a week I eat fairly well
I may smoke a cigarette but not a lot
So what could be the cause and if it is that will my dr be notified immediately and put me on meds ?
Just want some facts so I have information going in from a perfessional
I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
I would explain that a resting ECG is not the appropriate test for diagnosis of left atrial enlargement.
Left atrial enlargement is not suspected by ST changes, but by increased amplitude and inverted P wave seen on resting ECG.
But I want to reassure that you shouldn't rely too much on this ECG pattern, as the best answer of your concern is a directly measure of the left atrial dimensions by cardiac ultrasound.
As far as you haven't a direct evidence of left atrial enlargement you shouldn't concern about any possible therapy.
If atrial enlargement is confirmed by the cardiac echo, then for sure this test will conclude also the possible responsible factor(s) (a valvular dysfunction, left ventricular increased stiffness due to hypertension, or any other cardiomyopathy,etc.).
In such case, treating the underlying responsible factor will effectively stop further atrial enlargement progression.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Wishing all the best!
