Brief Answer:
MRI scan needed for diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in hip groin and a limp can be due to a nerve root compression at the level of lower spine or bursitis. An MRI scan is the best investigation to detect such changes.
Right now you need to take rest and get some oral muscle relaxants prescribed from your physician. Doing a hot compress in the area will also help.
I hope this answers your query.
