Suggest Treatment For Loss Of Appetite And Nausea
Question: For the last couple of years, I have been having problems with loss of appetite and nausea. I have lost about 20 pounds. Sometimes I vomit when brushing my teeth (bad gag reflex). I have been on Lisinopril for about twenty years, taking a 20/25 and 10 mg. pill. Blood pressure had been under control. Recently, I found that my blood pressure was getting too low (90/60 or lower at times), so the 10 mg. pill was dropped. I do feel dizzy and faint sometimes. Sometimes, my blood pressure is still high. Often, my pulse rate is over 100. I do not sleep well and always feel tired and weak. Liver enzymes are elevated. Ultrasound of liver was normal. My blood work is normal, aside from the liver enzymes, slightly high blood sugar, and high triglycerides. Could this all be from the Lisinopril, even though I had no problems with it before? My doctor has not diagnosed what my problem is. [I already paid, so I do not know why I am being redirected to payment screen.]

Having nausea or a clear-cut vomiting episode during brushing your teeth, can happen to anyone. Especially to those people who also brush their tongue (and this is not rare). The menthol content of a tooth paste, may cause nausea and vomiting to anyone.
Lisinopril is not a drug related to the side effects you are referring to. Indeed, a 90/60 mmHg blood pressure is considered low by statistics, but it is not reliable as blood pressure may fluctuate to various figures during one day, between low and high.
Please, inform me if the fainting episodes are associated with total loss of consciousness. If not, something may be fixed. The elevated liver function tests may be due to alcohol.
