Suggest Treatment For Loss Of Libido While On Finasteride
Question: My Dr just put me on two Drugs to help me with BPH. Tamsutosin .4mg and Finasteride 5mg. My Libido has really been affected? Dr worned me that Finasteride could substantially affect that. Two questions. 1) if i quit taking Finasteride now will my libido come back soon? 2) if i continue to take the drug long term will my libito come back when i quit? Any other ideas?

It is well known fact that discontinuation of finasteride after short term use leads to reversal of side effects specially on sexual performance. We can not say that reversal will occur overnight but most patients report normal libido within four weeks of discontinuation.
After the long term use the dance of returning libido to earlier level is quite good but the data in this regard is very much limited.
To conclude it can be said that sexual side effects are largely reversible in case of finasteride.
