Brief Answer:
In elderly age low diastolic pressure is a common finding

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

In your father's age low diastolic pressure is quite common finding, it is not serious abnormality and doesn't need specific treatment.
In elderly age, arteries become stiffer, so diastolic blood pressure can be measured up to 20-30 mm Hg. There is nothing to worry, and there is no need for treatment. In elderly age we taking into account and treat only systolic pressure.

Hope I could help you
