Brief Answer:
You are right, it is tyrosine

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thanks for writing to us.

Dopamine is derived from tyrosine amino acid. However tyrosine is precursor of many of the substances in body.

I have not found any human studies to determine what percentage of this amino acid is converted in L-dopa and doapmine. There is probably a great deal of individual variability.

L Tyrosine may help some people in their fight against depression, but dosages above 500 mg, in some people, may cause anxiety, restlessness and rapid heart rate. There are also chances that other neurotransmitters can be formed from this tyrosine. As well as most of the substances are breakdown in periphery before reaching to brain. So efficacy is questionable.

That is why it is not right way to treat the patient.

You can take 100 mg of tyrosine for a while if you want to try. And gradually can increase the dose 50 mg every 10 days.

For Adult Adhd I recommend atomoxetine, amphatamine or bupropion as treatment. You can ask your doctor about the same. These medicines decrease the uptake of dopamine and provide higher level in synapse to work.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Brief Answer:
yes amway tablets can be taken

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Sorry for delayed response.

If you are not able to consult doctor at present, you can take supplement.

I am not aware exact content of Amway tablets of amino acid available in USA but of course you can take it. In food I specifically recommend cheese and non-veg/ fish/sea food to get good amunt of tyrosine.

As such tyrosine supplements are also available but I do not recommend since it may cause side effects as I mentioned previously.

Ultimately if diagnosis is confirmed you will likely need medicines for treatment.

Take care.
