Brief Answer:
Testosterone can be taken in medication form

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concern.

From the available medical history the first thing I like to intervene is body weight. Across the literature it is proven beyond doubt that obesity results in multitude of problems including erection problem.

The mild hypertension and borderline diabetes you mentioned in the query can be tackled with simple life style modification to reduce the weight.
Once you are able to do there in my view the sexual problem would resolve.

As you might be knowing that most common cause of erection problem in middle age is systemic illness such as diabetes and hypertension.

Having said this, before calling it due to testosterone it is preferable to take the laboratory report of it. In case there is deficiency of it we can plan for either injection form or oral form of it.

So at this moment I like to ask you to do following things
!. Serum testosterone
2. Lipid Profile
3. Thyroid profile
4. Fasting and post prandial blood sugar

Once you get this please revert back to me for further suggestions and guidance.

At this stage think actively to reduce weight and meet a local nutritionist for taking care of nutrition in accordance to body needs.

Thanks and regards
Dr Ashok Kumar

Brief Answer:
Before breakfast

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

The optimal time for thyroid profile, lipid profile and fasting blood sugar is before breakfast in early morning. The post prandial blood sugar to be taken after wo hours of breakfast and testosterone sample can be taken any time.

So to conclude visit your lab before breakfast to get your test done.
Thanks and regards
