Brief Answer:
please upload the reports..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

First of all, let me inform you that disc bulging causing neuropathic pain is really a chronic problem and requires prolonged treatment along with physiotherapy under supervision of the physiotherapist as well as time to time routine follow-up with either Orthopedicain/ Neurologist..

Please upload the printed reports of the MRI as well as those blood investigations which were done already, so that I can guide you more specifically..

Also let me know the exact details of the medications which your taking at present (name, dosage, duration etc.), you can also upload the latest prescription of the orthopedician for this..

You've mentioned you did blood testing in XXXXXXX and you started taking calcium/Vit D3 supplementation since yesterday only, i.e. 3 months delay, have you consulted any doctor for this yet ? Please clarify, and also share the exact details of those medicines..

Any other problems ? Does the tingling sensation radiating to the lower limbs and toes also ?

Please share your occupation details , does it involve prolonged sitting in front of computers ?

Awaiting for your response..

Hi Thank you for responding.

I do not have any tingling sensation off late radiating to limbs and toes anymore. The pain has subsided than last month.

Yes I was under Physio last month and had 3-5 sessions with them. Also went through needling technique for tingling sensation.

Right now I do these exercises at home since last 3 weeks and is going fine.

Yes I am in IT and sit in front of laptop for 8-9 hours. I am 27 years old and I have been working since 5 years now.

The pain is more when I am stressed out and less when I am happy. It occurs when I sit for long hours or stand at one place for long hours.

I used to gym but have stopped since 8 months and recently facing this problem.

The pain has reduced off late but just wanted to take a second opinion as to understand the average recovery time from this pain.

I am getting married in December and wanted to get well soon.

Also my reports are in XXXXXXX and I am working in XXXXXXX So I wont be able to attach them right now. I just have a photo of the report which I can attach

Regards, XXXXXXX

Also the doctor mentioned me to lead a normal life and not to go by the impression written in the report, since he saw the MRI and said its normal. He said that 80 % MRI reveal mild disc bulges in L4/L5 and L5/S1. The discs appear normal and not touching the cord he mentioned.

I still had some pain and wanted relief so thought of checking with you as well.

Regards, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
your Doctor is absolutely right..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, welcome back,
Thanks for following up with the details,

I've reviewed the attached reports (photos and screen shots are fine) and your doctor's absolutely right.. these findings are hardly that significant, so just continue the Pregabalin and other medications (you may need to continue the Pregabalin beyond 20 days, depending on symptomatic improvement)..

Further more, unsupervised gym can cause worsening of symptoms so it's good that you've stopped it.. You must continue the Physiotherapy for long term benefit (it can be for several months).. along with simple free hand exercises can also be continued..

Calcium/Vit D3 level must get corrected with proper supplementation, can't comment on that till I get to see those actual results, so try to simply get those ranges later on and either inform your doctor or upload it here for further guidance on that.. next time when you'll be undergoing for preventive health check-up/ routine lab investigation, try to get Vit-B-12 level done also along with serum Calcium and Vit D3..

Meanwhile try to have 15-20 min of sunlight exposure in the morning (between 8-10 am), have calcium & protein rich diet (eg. fortified milk, curd, yogurt, almonds, hard boiled eggs, fish, chicken etc.)..

Another important factor is sitting, try to sit with straightened spine, use proper height reclining chair without too much cushioning effects..

After every one hour of sitting, try to take 5-10 min of break and simply walk around the premises.. you can discuss with your Orthopedician regarding getting brace for back support (lumbar support brace), it'll be helpful in long term..

Don't worry too much, married life will be just fine, just follow all these advises..

Let me know how you stay in the due course..
