Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain, Cramps And Bloating

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Jun 2015
Question: I have cramps, very similar to menstrual cramps, often lower back pain but the most constant symthom is burping, dry heaving and bloating every day. Often after meals but sometimes Regardless. I feel like it is gas related but not sure. gets worse if I drink a ginger ale to calm the nausea. I don't have any known allergies and I have been tested last year via blood sample and stool sample and nothing came back irregular. It is debilitating and affecting my ability to function to my fullest potential. I am not pregnant and during my pregnancy the synthoms got worse but I had them before too.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are most likely to be related to acid reflux/gastritis...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

After reviewing your symptoms I would like to say that your symptoms are most likely to be related to acid reflux (gastro esophageal reflux disease or GERD)/gastritis, or gall bladder issues.

You are saying that you have done one year ago, blood sample and stool sample analysis that were all normal. However this isn't enough to find out the right etiology of your problems.

If you were my patient I would recommend doing the following examinations:
- Blood work (including liver enzymes, lipase and amylases)
- Abdominal ultrasound (to exclude gall bladder/pancreas problems)
- Upper endoscopy (to look for gastritis/acid reflux etc.)
These examinations are essential in finding out exactly what is causing your symptoms.

Meantime I would like to suggest:
-     Avoid coffee, chocolate, energy drink, alcohol, smoking etc.
-     Eat often and small portions
-     Avoid excessive air swallowing
-     Use simethicone, PPI (omeprazole) and antacids (malox)

Hope this was of help!
Wish your health!
