Suggest Treatment For Lower Left Back Pain While Having Herniated Disc
I have a herniated disc at L5/S1. Could it be nerve pain causing all of this? It is very painful and will not stop hurting.
Herniated disc partially responsible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Herniated disc at L5-S1 compresses usually S1 nerve root, so this explains the muscles tightness, back leg and foot pain.
Stomach pain distributed to ribs most likely is not related to herniated disc disease, it may indicate other problems such hiatal hernia, excessive gas into large intestine etc.
It is necessary to be evaluated first by your primary care Doctor about abdominal problems you refer and to have done an abdominal ultrasound in order to understand better your condition.
Herniated disc disease is treated initially conservatively with NSAID drugs, physical therapy.
If you are suffering from a long time ( more than two months without improvement ) by herniated disc disease, spinal injections and surgery should be considered.
Discuss about this issue with a spine Surgeon.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Greetings.
