Suggest Treatment For Lump In The Throat Caused By Laryngopharyngeal Reflux

At the moment it is very bad, has been for months. Now I get pain in throat when I drink cold water.
I have history of thyroid (hashimotos) problems in family. And a lot of mucus goes down back of my throat. Is particularly worse when I lie down at night
Any suggestions would be helpful.
I intend to go to Docs soon and have investigated again.
Most likely due to laryngopharyngeal reflux.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to laryngopharyngeal reflux. Taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) and motility enhancers like domperidone for long term will be helpful for this.
If this is not helping then I would suggest more effective proton pump inhibitors like ilaprazole and motility enhancers like itopride. These are prescription drugs.
Take your food at least 2 hours before bed time. Take light meals at short intervals. Avoid carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and fatty foods. Raise your head end more with extra pillows while sleeping.
Keep plain water mouthful in morning after brushing and at night before bed time for 15 minutes and spit out.
These measures will be helpful to clear your problem.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
