Suggest Treatment For Lump In Trapezius
several possibilities
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
The most likely things this may be are a fatty tumor (lipoma), a lymph node or a sebaceous cyst.
Lipomas are collections of fatty tissue and are benign. Surgeons do not like to remove them because they often come back. But if it is really bothering you then you could ask a surgeon to remove it.
Lymph nodes enlarge when the body is trying to fight off infection. If it is a lymph node and is larger than 1cm (approx. 1/2 inch) then it may need to be biopsied.
If it is a sebaceous cyst, this is a blocked sweat or oil duct that gets blocked up and thick pus like material builds up in it. These are easily removed in a doctors office but are not dangerous.
Have a doctor examine the lump and they can give you a better idea about which of these three possibilities is involved.
You need an exam to get the exact diagnosis and suggestions for treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your follow up.
Your dermatologist may be able to tell you what is going on but if not your primary care doctor or an internist can examine it and tell you what it is. If it is a sebaceous cyst, which I think is most likely it can easily be removed in the office or an internist or dermatologist.

not much to be concerned about
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the follow up.
I do not really think you need to be concerned. Just concerned enough to get a doc to look at it.
Sebaceous cysts and lipomas are completely benign.
Most lymph nodes are also benign but you would need some follow up if it is a lymph node that is enlarging

get it checked
Detailed Answer:
I initially thought it was the size of a marble. Any lump the size of a walnut needs to be checked. It could be something benign but you need to have it looked at by a doctor to make sure.
