default
Posted on Tue, 14 Feb 2017
Question: I have antiphosholipid antibody syndrome and possible lupus. For several weeks I have been suffering from debilitating fatigue (to the point that breathing feels exhausting and I almost feel drunk), vertigo with any kind of movement, pressure and pain throughout my head, foggy thinking, lack of concentration, and overall body weakness. I have no fever, my appetite is normal, vision is fine.

Brief Answer:
you have auto immune syndrome which has flared up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic,

You have auto immune syndrome (the body acts against certain things inside it, not recognizing it as it's own) which has flared up.

Can you tell me what drugs you are on for this ?

In such circumstances, a short course of corticosteroids helps to alleviate symptoms.

You can take anti oxidants like CO enzyme Q 10 and L carnitine on daily basis. And please consult your doctor regarding initiation of steroids.

Feel free to revert back in case of any further doubts.

Brief Answer:
None of these are absolute contraindications for steroids.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Lovonox(Enoxaparin) is for deep vein thrombosis, Bystolic( Nebivilol) for mild high blood pressure and Lexapro (Escitalopram) for depression and potassium supplements.
None of these are absolute contraindications for steroids.
So you can discuss with your doctor about taking a short course of steroids. It should help you.
