Question: I had a bone scan done because i have breast cancer . I saw alot of white on the scan can you tell me what that could mean ?

Alot of white on the scan is good thing, indicates less uptake means no metastasis to the bones. let the doctor confirm it.

Metastasis is the spread of cancer to bones, breast cancers spread to bones commonly and that is why bone scans are advised. After injecting radioactive XXXXXXX for a few hours, a special camera is used to take scans of the bones and where there is metastasis that area appears darker and more shadier than other normal bone, so white is good. Dark is bad. Your scan is white, so it rules out spread of cancer and make the prognosis good. Let your doctor decide what is best for you.
