Suggest Treatment For Migraines And Extreme Motion Sickness
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: My daughter, age 29, has migraines, suffers from extreme motion sickness, and vomits often for no "apparent reason." Doctors have prescribed various meds that mostly haven't helped. No one seems to know what's wrong with her! Any ideas? This affects her life almost every day! Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Your daughter seems to have vestibular dysfunction.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the mentioned details. It could be that your daughter has a hypersensitive inner ear. The inner ear contains the vestibulocochlear apparatus which is responsible for both hearing and balance. Stimulation of this may lead to nausea and motion sickness and that could be the reason that your child is getting such episodes. You may try vestibulocochlear stabilizing agents during the periods and see if it provides relief. See a ENT doctor and get her evaluated if she requires some surgical procedures for Vestibular Dysfunction.
Hope that clears your query.

Thank you for your answer.
What are vestibulocochlear stabilizing agents? Besides my daughter's problem, my husband suffers from constant dizziness that doctors haven't had any ideas how to treat.
Thanks again.
