Suggest Treatment For Migraines, Dizziness, Heart Palpitations And Weakness
Thorough investigations and evaluation required!
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic,
All the symptoms written by you are indicative of individual problems.
Migraines and headaches are different. Headaches are called Migraines when they are unilateral(usually) may be followed by aura (previous to the attack) and is usually associated with nausea and vomiting.
Migraines or headaches may be associated with each other. However dizziness can be also because of palpitations.
And all these three symptoms can cause lethargy, weakness etc.
A thorough and complete investigation of symptoms is required to find out whats wrong.
Tests advised-
24 hour holter monitoring to record the nature of beats during palpitations.
2D echocardiography to rule out any physiological or pathological problem with heart functions.
An MRI brain to rule out the cause of migraine and dizziness.
After the results of these investigations only a specific diagnosis can be given.
As I can see that you've already been to a doctor, and taking Aspirin and Toprol, so please let me know the details of that visit, were any investigations done (specially the one's i've mentioned above) ?
Awaiting....
Thanks!
And I did have auras and nausea with the migraines. My thyroid is slightly elevated. They said nothing to worry about right now. Blood tests normal. But my estradiol was a 6!

Hi again,
As you've said that all your baseline cardiology tests were normal so most likely the problem you are having is because of episodes of panic attacks.
Panic attack can mimic all cardiac symptoms, so i think you should consult a psychiatrist.
As per your question, yes depression can cause all the symptoms and even some time depression and panic attacks are linked to each other.
If Escitalopram didn't suit you you can discuss the option of Paroxitine controlled release with your pyschiatrist. It's very well tolerated initially started at 12.5g controlled release dose and increased every month as per the response of body.
Paxil (benzodiazepenes) should also be taken with it. Please discuss this option with your psychiatrist.
Migraine with aura is treated by long term Flunarazine and beta blockers combination. You can discuss the option with your neurologist.
As your cardiac tests were normal you are clear from cardiac side.
Thanks
