Will Switching To Nortrel From Kariva Alleviate Vaginal Dryness?
Hello, I am a 38 year old mother of two. Im 5 4 1/2 inches and a 172 pounds. The only health concern or issue I have is severe vaginal dryness. Will a birth control with a higher level of ethinyl estradiol improve vaginal dryness or will it stay the same? I have swithched from Kariva to Nortrel with hopes of alleviating severe vaginal dryness issues.
Definitely, low level of estrogen may be a main cause of vaginal dryness. Still, it is not advisable to use the increased dose of estrogen orally just to treat this symptom. Generally, topical use of estrogen is recommended for this condition. Here you insert estrogen directly into vagina. This may be used by vaginal ring, vaginal gel, vaginal ointment or vaginal tablets. Besides the menopause, some other causes of vaginal dryness should also be taken care of. These may be breast feeding as well as some anti-depressive or oral contraceptive tablets.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
