Suggest Treatment For Mild Cold, Cough And Sore Throat

Question: Ok I had a mild cold mild sore throat early on the first 2-3 days then slight cough and left side nasal stuffiness only but my neck on left hurts like the left gland and some feeling in left ear. My ENT scoped me and said I am fine my internist said my gland was slightly swollen and put me on amoxillcilan. My question is how long can my left side gland and ear bother me?? It's been about 8 days. Thanks

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having Upper respiratory track infection (URTI) with Post nasal drip (PND) more on left side causing throat & ear problem .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
Antiseptic Mouth Wash twice daily like Betadin /chlorhexidine ,
Saline nasal rinse thrice daily ,
Tab Paracetamol twice daily ,
Antihistaminic Tab Claritin (Loratadine 10mg) at night &
continue Amoxicillin .

You will soon get relief from swollen glands & ear problem with above treatment plan (~3-5 days) .
