One should rule out tuberculosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Low grade fever associated with weakness is most often tuberculosis. Here is how you should go about it
1. Get a thermometer and check the temperature when you are feverish. Most often it is just a feeling but temperature will be normal
2. If the temperature is more than 99.6F then get the following blood tests done
Urine routine, chest x ray, complete blood count, ultasound abdomen and pelvis.
3. Please get these things done as soon as possible and get back to me
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Are you saying it might be tuberculosis yes or no? Have not had the tb test!!
I have had chest x ray 2 different times - lungs are clear no effusion or infiltrate - heart normal size - mild left scrotal of the aorta noted.
Urine always normal except for specific gravity being low every time 1.005
Red blood cell count high 5.51
White blood cell count 9.5
mchc low 30.4
Why does my blood pressure spike like 149/95 when I feel the fever and chills??
Thank you for starting to help me my local Dr. wants to send me to Internal Drs.

Hello
Thanks for getting back.
At the outset I would like to clear it out to you that Tb is treatable and nothing to worry about. Here are the answers to your questions
1. I saying that it might be Tb. Yes
2. Tb need not always be in the lungs. Most often than not it is is the lymph nodes which wont be visible on an x ray
3. Please tell me lymphocyte count and ESR. You must get a Mantoux test for Tb
4. It is normal to have slightly higher blood pressure when there is an active infection or fever
It is a good idea to go to a internal medicine physician or a infectious disease specialist
Regards

Body temperature
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for following up with my suggestions. Normal body temperature ranges upto 99.6F but since you are symptomatic it has to be taken as positive.
In my lab 25% is the usual cut off for lymphocytes, 35% is a high normal reading and has to be investigated since you are symptomatic.

Brief Answer:
Depends on age
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for getting back
58.5 is a high cut off for lymphocytosis. However based on your previous values your lymphocytes have increased which is an indication of an ongoing infection.
Are you saying that you wont be able to meet even a GP till third week of january?
