Suggest Treatment For Mild Hydrocele

Question: I had hydrocele some 10 years ago. I took some medicines (pills) locally. When it got a little better I left the medicines. Now the size of one testis is larger than the other. It doesn't hurt. But I want it to be normal. Please advise. Thanks

Hi
Mild hydrocele, due to infection of the Testis and Epididymis (Epididymo orchitis )will respond to Antibiotic and anti inflammatory tablets.
If the hydrocele is of moderate size,Surgery is the only option. Size of the affected side will decrease in size after surgery.
Nothing to worry. It is a simple procedure.

Cost depends on the hospital.

Hi
It may Cost around Rs15, 000 to Rs 20,000 .it varies from hospital to hospital.
You should stay in hospital for 2 to 3 days . Routinely, I discharge 3 days after surgery.
You can consult a General surgeon or Urologist. Urologist may charge more.
It is a very simple procedure. Ask for Regional anaesthesia to avoid pain.
