Hi,

Mefenamic acid belongs to the group of medications known as non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) is used to relieve mild to moderate pain including menstrual pain, toothache, migraines, joint pain, muscle cramps, arthritis, osteoarthritis etc. It works by stopping a substance in the body that causes pain, fever and inflammation.

Side effects of Mefenamic are nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, rashes, fever, drowsiness, heartburn, indigestion, stomach bloating, abdominal pain or cramping, bloody urine, black or tarry stools, increased bleeding time, increased blood pressure, increased thirst, loss of appetite, pale skin, unusual tiredness or weakness, easily bruising or bleeding, changes in weight, constipation, irregular heartbeat, unpleasant breath odor, chest tightness, serious symptoms of allergic reactions like itching, rashes, swelling of lips, face, tongue, throat, hands or feet, wheezing, breathing difficulties etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then immediately consult your doctor for medical attention and stop taking Mefenamic acid.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
