Suggest Treatment For Minor Jaw Misalignment
![default](/r/images/default.png)
disc displacement, piroxicam, artocentesis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through your query. The jaw misalignment could be because of the disc displacement in the jaw joint. this might cause difficulty in mouth opening and clicking sound also. Consult your oral physician, find out the cause for jaw joint problem like malaligned teeth or any trauma to the jaw joint, and take radiographs and MRI of the joint.
If i am you treating doctor, i would have suggested you to take tablet piroxicam (20mg twice daily for first day and once daily for next 4 days) with muscle relaxant. You have to use the mouth guard during night time. The tight sensation is because of the night guard, nothing to worry it takes little time for you to get used to the use of night guard. Do not eat hard food, donot open your mouth too wide. Even while eating apple or any fruits, make it into small pieces and eat.
You can give hot fomentation over the joint. After all these things if the problem doesnt solve then consult a oral maxillofacial surgeon and get arthocentesis done(means lavage to the jaw joint with saline or blood).
I hope my answer will help you. Take care. if any queries are there reply me back.
