Suggest Treatment For Multiple DVT And Blocked Veins
She gave SSA letter from her treating PA about DVT PVD PAD and nerve pain a swelling. Isn't this common when leg is huge waiting for clot dissolve can get perm nerve damage?
Electroneurogram is required
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If there are multiple DVT and the clots have blocked the veins, there is intense oozing of the plasma into the neighboring tissue. The lymphs have to drain this fluid. The fluid is so largely accumulated that the lymphatics would not be able to carry it. There is inflammation, swelling and pain that sets. There is less space for the muscles to swelling leading to compression of the constituents in the compartment.
The nerves are part of this compartment and would be damaged as well. However it is imperative to test if they were already permanent damage with ENG test.
The treatment is a step wise approach without compromsiing the circulation to the legs.
I suggest to meet a vascular surgeon.

Your description sounds similar. In compartment syndrome the nerve slowly loses the blood supply and suffers irreversible damage.
