Suggest Treatment For Muscle Spasm Near Nasolabial Fold While Smiling
Tell a few details.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
If you would have presented to me as an outpatient with this medical history,I would have examined you to observe a few things-
1)Whether your both eye lids close well and symmetrically or not?Try to close your eyes with full effort and ask someone to see if both the eyes close equally or there is some asymmetry between the two?
2)I would have checked you for double vision. Please tell if this is the complaint with you in any gaze you see,or not?
3)Is your face deviated to one side or not?
4)You said that these symptoms come and go.How frequently? In how much time they improve?
Relapsing and remitting symptoms should not be due to bell's palsy.
Stroke also appear to be a less likely possibility.
MS can occur relapsing and remitting but evidence of neurological deficit should be objective.
Please follow up with details so that I can answer your query well.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow up.
I have watched the video provided by you.Though,in the first view,it appears that you are having an action(smiling) induced hemifacial spasm, but on close watch I was able to make out that you had contractions on opposite(right) side also and that is a strong point against hemifacial spasm.
This is definitely not Bell's palsy, stroke or MS.
Most possible reason appears to be anxiety.
I suggest you to start doing regular mental relaxation exercises like meditation/yoga.At the same time, please be on a trial of anti-anxiety medicine like clonazepam.I am sure you will show improvement.
PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
