Suggest Treatment For Muscle Spasms In The Right Arm

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Feb 2017
Question: Hi. I have developed a involuntary twitch/spasm on the inside part of my right arm, in the lower triceps area just above the elbow. This started last night, went away for most of the afternoon, and is now back more aggressive than ever. Any suggestions? Can't fall asleep with this. I take half of a 5mg Lisinopril for b/p, 2- 3 7.5 mg Vicodin for back pain - had a steroid injection in my spine last Wednesday, and 1 mg Lorazapan at bedtime to help with Tinnitus. Thank you! Current bp is 120/67.

Brief Answer:
Carnitine deficiency / Low calcium and vitamin D levels

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.

I have gone through your medical history in detail.
It seems that you may have carnitine or calcium/vitamin D deficiency.

These ingredients are necessary for smooth contraction and relaxations of any skeletal muscles.
Deficiency of either of these can lead to involuntary twitch/spasm.

I would suggest you to get their blood levels checked.

Depending upon the levels,we can start on L-carnitine,calcium and vitamin D supplements.

Such twitches are usually harmless and benign and will not cause any harm in a long run.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any doubts that you may have .

Thank you.

Kind regards.
