Posted on Mon, 22 Aug 2016
Question: I am experiencing spasms just below my breastbone. The spasms are very painful but intermittent. The act of sitting down or standing up has the worst affect. There no other symptoms. I have Parkinson's disease and have stints. Last heart catherization 8 months ago was good. Major activity last three days has been picking berries.

Brief Answer:
It is probably muscular pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your symptoms and they are suggestive of muscular pain and spasms. The symptoms are not related to heart disease.

You can try muscle relaxants such as chlorzoxazone for pain relief, until you call on your doctor.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
