Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Abdominal Pain After Intake Of Food
Question: I am a type 2 diabetic and was diagnosed about 4 months ago. I have been having an early feeling of fullness after eating a little bit of food with meals, followed by lots of stomach gas, nausea, and burning pain in stomach after eating. Is this diabetic gastroparesis, helicobacter pylori, or something else? Thank-you.
Brief Answer:
A gastric (gaatritis or ulcera) problem should be excluded.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
i can understand your concern.
Gastroparesis is a late complication of diabetes and is caused due to autonomic neuropathy.
Usually it is associated with other autonomic nerve damages that are manifested with diarrhea, sweating, orthostatic hypotension, high heart rate ect.
In this case a gastritis or ulcer should be exluded.
I would recommend a fibrogastroscopy and meanwhile quit smoking and alcohool ( if you use them).
Wish you good health.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Thank-you Dr. Mirjeta. I do not smoke or drink (never have).
Would there be a chance I have Helicobacter Pylori bacteria in my stomach
that could be causing these stomach symptoms? Thank-you.
