Brief Answer:
Thoughts on what might be going on.
Detailed Answer:
When people feel nauseated, especially prior to vomiting, they sometimes swallow more air (this is not under conscious control). This would explain the deep belching. But the initial cause of your nausea is not clear.
I've experienced this same set of symptoms from motion sickness, which can be a cause, or from sore throats that cause increased swallowing of air.
Other possibilities include stomach irritation, drinking alcohol, intense stress, problems with the gall bladder (although gall bladder symptoms usually happen in relation to eating), and allergies to particular foods. There are other causes for nausea too, but given the history you provided I don't think they would apply.
As you are 46, I'm wondering about any kind of hormonal changes (perimenopause) which might be contributing to this, but this is lower on my list as you have had it for 4 years.
If there is some sort of stomach irritation going on, you can try ranitidine (Zantac) 150 mg twice a day and see if it helps prevent the problem. Stomach irritation or reflux would be higher on my list of what might be causing this. Also, hiatal hernia might cause this. Reaching/stretching and lifting can make a hiatal hernia act up.
So - without being able to examine you, these are my thoughts on what might be going on. I hope it helps.
