Suggest Treatment For Neck Pain With Tingling In Upper Limbs And Vertigo
Question: I had a cervical fusion done 3 yrs. ago, from C4-C7. Every thing seemed to be going well until about 1 year ago. Now I believe that my C4-4 disc is severely degenerated (wasn't in great shape during the surgery), as I have severe DDD in my back and neck. Now, my hand gets all "pins 'n needles" several times a day. Also, I have now become unsteady when standing. All of a sudden I'll "lose my balance" and sometimes fall. Are this symptons a result of the surgery, or from the messed up C3-4 disc? I ALSO have sharp, burning pain at the base of my skull.
Brief Answer:
Possibility of disc prolapse and compression
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
These symptoms of neck pain with tingling and radiation to upper limbs and vertigo may be due to cervical disc prolapse leading to nerve compression.
You need to get evaluated for vitamin D deficiency too.
You can also upload images or report of previous imaging and treatment record for better advice.
At present neck physiotherapy and pain modulator drugs like pregabalin or gabapentin may be used.
Possibility of carpal tunnel can be evaluated by nerve conduction studies.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
