Suggest Treatment For Night Sweats And Elevated Heart Rate

default
Posted on Mon, 24 Jul 2017
Question: Only hx is Hypothyroid and nodule on thyroid. 39y/o. Overweight. Did notice some night sweats over the last couple of years. Since last July: Sudden rush of warm fluid like feeling on right side head to shoulder, followed by spinning sensation followed by elevated heart rate and BP. Residual effects: anxiety, Unfocused vision like wobbly eyes, insomnia, loose stools, tremors, internal head vibration feelings, deep fear of unknown and occasional palpitations, shortness of breath with minimal physical exertion, lower extremity edema, abdominal bloating and weight gain even when not eating well. Symptoms Happened monthly then more frequent now nonstop will get random heat flashes, and anxiety and feeling of near syncope. Seems to be around the clock now and mild headaches, light headed, wobbly headed, unfocused eyes, dizzy, anxious, but now that I've been tracking since November it is all majorly exacerbated at time of ovulation and few days before menstrual cycle starts. MRI and CT fine. Neuro says nothing shows and maybe migraine aura. MRA showed decreased blood flow to cerebellum with three vessels not visible but didn't seem like a new process. No doc seems concerned about that. Gyno says fine-no testing done. Cardiac check fine-stress test and carotids. Thyroid in normal ranges, nodule size not changed over last ten years. ENT cleared me. Ophthalmologist exam cleared me. Psych cleared me. VNG tests says central vestibular dysfunction. Period super heavy with clots one month and next month super thin consistency and light glow. Break through old dark blood inbetween periods. Labs over the year did show gradual decreasing hemoglobin and now iron definciency. Every doc has a different diagnosis and new med to "try" for things like general anxiety(Zoloft made me feel nuts like my head was going to burst from overstimulation and why would anxiety be nonstop), BPPV(why nonstop), perimenopause, mold toxicity, acephalgic migraine with aura(why would it be pretty much nonstop for a year) Nothing points to an exact answer. I fear something missed. Lyme western blot had 23igm band reactive. Doc says not Lyme. ENT who is now alternative med had me do a mycotoxin urine and found stachybotrus and Gliotoxin in the urine(have worked in a moldy office for 8 years). Just feel so lost. And desperate to be my normal self again!!! I'm scared to take any meds because it's hard to trust now as I am so confused on what's happened to me and nobody can give me a definite answer. I'm an RN so my brain does wonder to the worst case scenario places when these symptoms persist and exacerbate, but there must be an underlying answer that we just cannot pinpoint. I live in a small country rural town where local general docs don't spend a lot of time listening and work ups are sparse.

Brief Answer:
No serious neurological disorder(s).

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

You had CT, MRI, and MRA of the brain done that resulted in no changes to justify your symptoms, so you shouldn't worry more than necessary about any serious neurological disorder(s).

Since there are no signs of infarction or ischemia, you shouldn't worry about decreased blood flow to the cerebellum, periodic follow up is sufficient for this issue.

In the other hand, low iron may point to gastroenteric tract issues such gastritis, ulcers, etc. that may also cause low vitamin B12 in blood, electrolytes imbalance, problems with coagulation, etc.

All these conditions if confirmed may justify at least a part of your symptoms, correct diagnosis, and treatment of such conditions together with hypothyroidism should improve your symptoms too.

It is obvious that anxiety is playing an important role in your overall condition too, so, correct treatment of anxiety should lead to significant improvement.

In the other hand, healthy living and feeding, exercising is necessary to promote health.

In conclusion, I don't see any serious or not treatable condition in your case, since you had all of these tests done.

Discuss with your Doctor about above-mentioned issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

In good health.
