Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your husband's history and would like to suggest you as follows:
1. Night sweats, dark yellow urine, fatigue, bodyaches, headches, use of well water for last 3 weeks.... With above complaints I would first think of hepatitis, usually infective.
2. Were I treating him, I would suggest him investigations for hepatitis like serum SGOT, serum bilirubin, prothrombin time, urine examination including bile salts and bile pigments. I would also suggest complete blood counts with ESR.
3. Were I treating him, I would at first advise him complete rest, good fluid intake, avoidance of oily & fat-containing foods. I would like to prescribe him drug treatment after thorough examination and investigations.
4. Personally I would suggest him to visit a doctor and get himself examined by him/her.
5. Above mentioned investigations for hepatitis are also important as sometimes Deprekote (Sodium Valproate) itself can cause/worsen hepatitis. If his investigations, especially SGOT are abnormal, dose of Deprekote may have to be adjusted or withheld temporarily.
Hope above suggestions and information will be helpful to you & him.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask on follow-up. It will be my humble pleasure to help your husband with best of my knowledge and experience. Also, please let me know if he has any other medical issues in the past. I would also know whether he has fever and whether hepatitis is prevalent in the locality he stays in.
Wish your husband a quick recovery and the best of the health ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
