Suggest Treatment For Nocturnal Urinary Incontinence

Question: I am 75, female and have nocturnal incontinence since several years but it is getting worse. I have
had several Interstim surgeries, and acupuncture, tried every medicine in the book. Now they say
it is a neurological condition and can probably not be fixed but nobody is very interested either.
It is not "minor", more like Niagra Falls, some leakage but very minor daytime.
I guess an old woman is not very interesting but it is keeping me from sleeping and it is also depressing.

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have nocturnal frequency for urination since many years making your life measurable

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Was your ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis done and if so what is the post void urine residue volume reported ?
2) Was your endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy) done and what were the findings?

In old age in females there is generalized atrophy of genital organs and urethra causing incomplete emptying of the bladder resulting into significant amount of urine to remain in bladder what is called as Residual Urine more over there is loss of contractile power of bladder muscles with loss of elasticity of the bladder wall .All these factors all together cause nocturnal frequency .This is the reason why medicines are not working

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and discuss with him regarding calibrating urethra to be followed by self intermittent catheterization at home .

You need to practice following regime to hep yourself
1) Restrict fluid intake after evening
2) Avoid beverages and Coffee
3) Empty your bladder before going to bed or with self catheterization .
4) Empty your bladder once again in the middle of the night .
5) Clean self intermittent catheterization done 2-3 times in a day help.

Ultrasound of stomach and pelvis not done
and
cystoscopy was not done.

i dont have to worry about emptying my bladder during the night. It is very
adapt at emptying itself while i sleep through it !

i dont believe i could do self catarization.
