Suggest Treatment For Numbness On Face Near Nose After Injury

Question: Hello, I recently was punched in the face over the weekend when a buddy and I were "rough housing". It was an accident but I now have numbness on the left side of my face under the eye, in the nose, and lip/teeth. It looks like a burst a few blood vessels in the left eye as well. This morning I spit out a blood clot (fairly small one). I iced twice yesterday to help the swelling but I still have the numbness. I can smile fine and raise my eyebrows no problem. Should I go to the doctor? Or what do you think can be done/ recovery time?

Brief Answer:
What to do with multiple injuries to the face...

Detailed Answer:
Multiple injuries to the face, involving the eye, nose, teethth and skin of face are what we need to rule out. The nasal injury might have affected the septum or vomar bone (bones in the nose) making you spit up the clot. A good ENT doctor has to test nose and may advise and x-ray to rule out any fractures. This isn't an emergency per sey, as long as you are breathing well.

Teeth to be examined for broken teeth if you notice any of them are loose. If you're vision becomes or remains blurry, then a trip to the ER and examination by an Eye doctor is a good idea to rule out conjuctival or corneal injuries.

Facial swelling ice compression to be given for pain Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen tablets may be taken swelling and numbness will go in due course of time.
