Possibility of seborrheic dermatitis; would like to rule out H. Zoster
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Images.
In these Images I can see red areas/ patches on scalp skin.
-Are these patches scaly as well Or do they ooze/ crusty?
-Are the lesions associated with considerable pain? Are the lesions only painful to touch or do they pain otherwise as well?
-Do you have fluid filled lesions/ vesicle?
-Do you have any lesions on face?
Kindly get back to me with these details..
I suggest a possibility of scalp seborrheic dermatitis. However, I would like to rule out possibility of herpes zoster.
Scalp seborrheic dermatitis is itchy. It may be accompanied by bumps/ pimples which are usually sore/ painful.
Herpes zoster on the other hand usually presents with painful bumps/ fluid filled lesions limited only to one side of the body.
Sore area beneath ear lobe is probably due to draining enlarged lymph node

-Are the lesions associated with considerable pain? Are the lesions only painful to touch or do they pain otherwise as well? some pain .. sort of tingling ..
feel discomfort on that side of my head.
-Do you have fluid filled lesions/ vesicle? no
-Do you have any lesions on face? no
I have no flakiness
I suggest possibility of scalp seborrheic dermatitis with secondary inf'n
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
This is most likely seborrheic dermatitis with sore, raised bumps probably due to secondary bacterial infection of the affected scalp.
I suggest you to use an OTC antifungal shampoo e.g Nizoral shampoo, every alternate days.
A course of an Oral antibiotic e.g flucloxacillin Or cephalexin for a week is also advisable.
