Suggest Treatment For Open Ulcers In The Lower Legs

Question: My son arrived from Arizona with huge lower legs filled with fluid, he said the dr diagnosed venous insufficiency. That was a month ago. He now has open ulcers on one leg and they are seeping. Advise please.

Hi
As per your description, it looks like Venous ulcer.
Colour doppler examination of the affected lower limb will give a clue of Venous system.
Venous ulcers are common in limbs of venous insufficiency.
Regular cleaning and dressing is essential. Wound should be covered. If pus is coming, it could be sent for Culture and sensitivity for appropriate Antibiotic.
Please consult your doctor ,preferably a Vascular Surgeon and proceed further.
